This Lego Ideas set holds a special place in my heart, as it was actually the first Lego Ideas set that I bought.

The fifth set in the Lego Ideas range and the first of many NASA (and space) related Ideas sets to be released over the coming years. I am not complaining! I love space, and love LEGO Space sets too! I only wish I could afford to get them all.

Description

This is a model of the Mars Science Laboratory rover, named Curiosity. The real rover is currently on Mars with a mission to investigate the past and current habitability of the Red Planet. On August 5, 2012, it touched down at Gale Crater, near the equator. This model has a fully articulated arm, deployable mast, and a working rocker-bogie suspension system that allows the rover to climb over large rocks and keep all six of its wheels on the ground.

El Brick, or Luke (El = L geddit? no... ok) fell in love with LEGO as a child, and one of his fondest memories was getting a new LEGO (and later Technic) set for Christmas each year. Losing touch with LEGO for a few years, he returned when LEGO Ideas captured his imagination. Combining his love of LEGO and websites, he decided to create this here LEGO website, and hopes you enjoy it 🙂
