Lego has announced the new Harry Potter sets launching this summer, including the Burrow and Hogwarts astronomy tower. Most of these new sets will be launching on 1st June, but many have come up for preorder already 🙂

If you are a fan of Harry Potter then you are probably as excited about the new lineup as I am. I am excited for the Burrow and the flying Hedwig model. Which set are you most excited about?

Below we go over all the new sets

Hogwarts Astronomy Tower

Hogwarts Astronomy Tower Front

The new Hogwarts Astronomy Tower makes a great companion piece to the already released Hogwarts sets, such as the clock tower and great hall.

This LEGO Hogwarts playset gives you the freedom to explore the many fascinating rooms of Hogwarts castle, and includes minifies of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Horace Slughorn, Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, Ron Weasley, Lavender Brown, Draco Malfoy and Hedwig.

Hogwarts Astronomy Tower Back

Hedwig (with flapping wings)

The new Hedwig set is especially intriguing to me, because it is a mechanical set that features flapping wings, which I think is a nice feature.

Bring the magical personality and elegant movement of Hedwig™, the celebrated snowy owl from the Harry Potter™ movies, to life. The collectable LEGO® Harry Potter Hedwig (75979) display toy offers a rewarding building experience and looks magnificent on show.

Buildable Hedwig the owl with ‘flying’ wings
With a wingspan of over 13” (34cm), this 630-piece brick-build model shows Hedwig in flight, delivering an important letter. Once the build is complete, a turn of a handle causes the jointed wings to move gracefully up and down. The collectable model stands on a sturdy base with a detachable LEGO Harry Potter Minifigure and another, smaller, Hedwig the owl toy with wings spread open.
lego.com

Attack on the Burrow

The Burrow is one of my favourite locations from Harry Potter. Not only is the burrow the home to the Weasleys, but it is beautifully wonky and almost heath Robinson in design. It is interesting to see that Lego managed to create a piece that is not perfectly straight, as you can see, the top is on a slant.

Will Death Eaters burn down The Burrow?
There’s so much to do and discover in The Burrow, the Weasley family house, that one side of the highly detailed dollhouse toy opens up to provide lots more space for kids to play. With 8 minifigures, play can begin right away. As kids recreate the famous scene where the evil Death Eaters, Bellatrix Lestrange and Fenrir Greyback, attack, fire elements can be used to recreate the fire that devastates the building.
lego.com

4 Privet Drive

Harry Potter fans will have endless fun with Harry, Ron Weasley™, Dudley Dursley, Vernon Dursley, Petunia Dursley and Dobby™ minifigures. They’ll enjoy imaginative play all over the fully equipped 2-story house, including locating Harry’s secret cupboard under the stairs and activating the flood of Hogwarts™ acceptance letters through the letterbox.

Collectible Harry Potter flying car toy
The magical excitement continues outdoors when Ron appears at the upstairs window with the flying Ford Anglia. Kids open the trunk to attach a chain to its hook and, very soon, the window is dragged off and Harry escapes!
lego.com

Hogwarts™ Room of Requirement

LEGO® Harry Potter™ Hogwarts™ Room of Requirement (75966) transports young witches and wizards into a magical world as they join a group of friends on a secret mission to overcome powerful dark magic.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix™ role-play toy
Fans of Harry Potter can recreate classic movie moments and conjure up imaginative adventures of their own with Harry, Hermione Granger™ and Luna Lovegood™. Dumbledore’s Army is practising spells in the mysterious Room of Requirement. Kids can help Harry teach the Patronus charm. There’s a Hare for Luna and an Otter for Hermione. Power shooters fit into the minifigures’ hands and fire at the mechanical Death Eater toy. With a host of cool features and accessories, the magical fun will never end!
lego.com

Forbidden Forest: Umbridge’s Encounter

Harry Potter™ fans can create a magical world of giants, centaurs and enchanted trees as they enter the Forbidden Forest with LEGO® Harry Potter Forbidden Forest: Umbridge’s Encounter (75967).

Minifigures and magical creatures in the Forbidden Forest
Kids enter the Forbidden Forest with 3 minifigures – Harry Potter, Hermione Granger™ and Dolores Umbridge™ – and cast a spell to open the large tree and reveal a selection of accessories: A lantern, bone and turkey leg.

As soon a the LEGO Hogwarts Castle was announced, it was love at first sight! I have been a Harry Potter fan for a while and love the Hogwarts Castle from the films.

If you have ever been to Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London, you know that the finale to the exhibit is the Hogwarts Castle used in the filming of the first few films, and it is awe-inspiring!

The first time I saw it, I took about 300 photos and spent hours walking around it and looking at every inch of detail. So my love of Hogwarts runs deep.

When the set was first announced, I thought it was too good to be true! Mainly because it was leaked before the official announcement. However, a few days later LEGO officially announced the set, and the rather large price tag to go with it.

Officially the second biggest LEGO set ever after the Millenium Falcon released earlier this year and coming it at 6020 pieces for £349.99. No small fee, but worthy of the price when it is such a big set!

With the release of the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Minifigures, there has been a mad rush to find out the box distribution of figures, for the completionists out there to get a complete set.

The problem lies in the fact the box of 60 only really contains 2 complete sets (excluding the 1 per box minifigure), as there are 22 minifigures to collect!

The most in a bix are 3 of the same characters, and the least is 1 per box. Below is a table of the figures and how many appear in the box.

Minifigures with Three in a Box

Harry Potter:

Harry Potter (Hogwarts Uniform) (1)

Hermione Granger (2)

Ron Weasley (3)

Draco Malfoy (4)

Neville Longbottom (6)

Cho Chang (7)

Dean Thomas (8)

Lord Voldemort (9)

Dobby (10)

Cedric Diggory (12)

Filius Flitwick (13)

Mad-Eye Moody (14)

Albus Dumbledore (16)

Fantastic Beasts:

Newt Scamander (17)

Porpentina Goldstein (18)

Jacob Kowalski (19)

Queenie Goldstein (20)

Minifigures with Two in a Box

Harry Potter:

Luna Lovegood (5)

Sybil Trelawney (11)

Harry Potter (Invisibility Cloak) (15)

Fantastic Beasts:

Credence Barebone (21)

The Rare One (1 per box of 60):

Percival Graves / Gellert Grindelwald (22)

So now you know the rare ones, but how do you find them in a box of 60?

It has been a while since the last harry potter set was retired, as there have been no Harry Potter Films since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 that was released in 2011! ? How time flies.

While Fantastic Beasts and Newt Scamander have reignited interest in the wizarding world, many still crave more of Harry Potter’s particular brand of magic. Well, get your brick sorting hats on! Becuase your wish is my command!

The recently announced Harry Potter theme from LEGO will be kicking off with Hogwarts no less, while they will also have a new range of Harry Potter BrickHeadz to add to your collection.

Yes! Hogwarts’ Great Hall kicks off the new Harry Potter LEGO theme in style.

Lego returns to JK Rowling’s Wizarding World in August, with the release of the first new set in the series. The sets will be based on the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series. The first set in the Lego Harry Potter series will be Hogwarts Great Hall, a $99 set featuring ten minifigures no less. It will also include two buildable creatures and a nice amount of detail.

The Hogwarts Great Hall set, which was first shown off at the New York Toy Fair, is a pretty awesome return to Harry Potter series. This work of architectural art stands 14 inches high, 8 inches wide and 11 inches deep. It also has a respectable 878 pieces for you to magic together.

On first glance, you would be forgiven for wondering where those 800+ pieces go, but when you turn it around, the detailed interior is a sight to behold! Yes, this fantastic beast is a beauty from the outside and on the inside. The best of both <del>wizarding</del> worlds! (I really need to stop with the bad puns).

It has been mentioned that the set will fit together with another set, but why stop there? This could be a modular Hogwarts set that pieces together to create a whole Hogwarts! Imagine that 😀

After what seemed like a slow start, they have added many more in the last few months, ranging from DC to Star Wars, and now we can expect Harry Potter to be added to the mix.

So far they have announced Harry and Hedwig, a two-piece set, a solo Hermione Grainger, and a Ron and Dumbledore set.

Now that LEGO seems more willing to package multiple BrickHeadz together, it opens up a lot of opportunities for some of the lesser known characters to make an appearance, however, we still have quite a list of the main ones that haven’t been announced.

I think we need a Voldermort, Hagrid (maybe with one of his many pets), Dobby, and more! There are far too many great characters to list them all, but I for one am looking forward to the BrickHeadZ they announce.
